Josef Wolf

Coaching Consultant

Josef is a highly accomplished volleyball coach with extensive experience in both the men's professional leagues and youth teams. He has achieved remarkable success throughout his career, including multiple national championships.

As a player-coach of ASV Dachau from 1978 to 1985, Wolf led the team to annual national league promotions from the district league to the 1st Bundesliga. This demonstrates his ability to develop and guide a team to success.

From 1985 to 2021, Wolf served as a coach in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga for various teams, including ASV Dachau, SV Lohhof, TV Landau, GCDW Herrsching, and TSV Mühldorf. His coaching tenure in these professional leagues spans 15 years, showcasing his expertise and proficiency in managing high-level teams.

In addition to his work in professional volleyball, Wolf has made significant contributions as a youth coach. Over the years, he has achieved tremendous success in developing young players, winning a total of 24 German National Championship titles and around 60 Bavarian Regional championship titles with youth teams aging from 13 to 20 years old. He has also guided these teams to national finals for youth training for the Olympics, highlighting his ability to nurture talent and produce exceptional results at the youth level.


Wolf's dedication to the sport of volleyball extends beyond coaching. From 2005 to 2010, he worked as a full-time lecturer in training science for volleyball at the University of Augsburg. He has also served as a Keynote Speaker for the German Volleyball Association. In addition, he is the lead member of the German Government’s State Ministry for the further training of teachers and university lecturers, for the development of volleyball education and coaching programs. He has developed and leads these coaching education programs to the country’s coaching community.
